Swinburne students – sometimes the greatest things come in the smallest packages, and we want you to show us!
Once again, swine magazine, in collaboration with Swinburne Writing Programs, invites all currently enrolled Swinburne students to participate in our Sudden Writing Competition.

We’re accepting short unpublished fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and hybrid forms of writing. The winner will receive $150, and their work will be published online and in print. Two shortlisted authors will each receive $50. The winner and shortlisted authors will be announced at swine’s launch event.

Theme: Open.
Word limit: Up to 400 words for prose submissions, 40 lines for poetry, 200 words for prose poems, and the equivalent for hybrid forms.
• Entries should be attached to your email as a Word document.
• The document should be saved as the title of your piece (e.g., ‘Straw’).
The document should not include your name or any identifying features
• Maximum 2 entries per person
• Submissions that exceed the word limit or include identifying features will be disqualified
Please note, in previous years we asked for submissions to be sent to comms@ssu.org.au, but we now ask for all submissions to be sent directly to swine (print@ssu.org.au)
