Issue one: GLOW – SUBS  OPEN

Submissions close Sunday 10 March

We release quarterly digital issues and biannual print editions. We accept many forms: fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, feature articles, cartoons, photography, illustrations, and any other creative medium that speaks to you. All submissions featured in the quarterly digital issues will be included in the end-of-semester print editions.

Send submissions to our editor at print@ssu.org.au with the subject line ‘Issue Submission’.

For writing submissions, please send your work in a docx format, double-spaced, in 12-point font. Submissions can be of any word length up to 1500 max and 45 lines for poetry.

Please also include the following information:

  • Form: short story, memoir, script, prose/verse poetry etc. It’s fine if you are unsure, fiction or nonfiction is mostly what we’re looking for.
  • Full title as it will be published INCLUDING any style choices eg, all lower case. Please note that if your title contains the exact theme word, you will likely be asked to change it to avoid all pieces being named similarly.
  • Full author name. This is the name your piece will be published under, it does NOT have to be your legal name. Let us know of any pseudonyms or if you wish to remain anonymous.

If you intend to write a piece that will exceed 1500 words, please send us a synopsis and estimated word count at print@ssu.org.au so we can make sure to allow enough space for your work, if successful.
